Volume 3 of the cpo edition with the recording of all chamber music for wind ensemble by Beethoven contains further insightful documents for the maturation process of the composer. Thus, the three works made by the Consortium Classicum - although created in Beethoven's Bonner and early Viennese period - prove to be extremely mature works with already well-established sonata movements and some compositional sophistication.
The Es major octet is played for every 2 oboes, clarinets, horns and bassoon op. 103, the C major trio for 2 oboes and cor anglais and the E flat major Rondino WoO 25 for 8 winds.
A special treat: Minuet I of the octet will be given a world premiere performance, as the leader of the ensemble Dieter Klöcker has discovered this movement in the Moravian Museum in Brno during his research expeditions and included in the edition due to the attractive Beethoven theme and instrumentation.
