Rare expert on the eight-string guitar, Thomas Carbou released two albums simultaneously in 2019: "Here and elsewhere" and "Re: Cycling". These releases are the 21st and 22nd of a discography that dates back to 1997 for the prolific electro-jazz musician.
In "Re: Cycling", the Quebec guitarist of French origin allows himself to fully exploit the layers and the construction of atmospheres, which gives a second life to the hits that were "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Nirvana) or still "WIth or Without You" (U2).
Loving loops of guitar, Carbou allows himself loops of loss of hearing in the original compositions of "Re: Cycling". The effect is poignant in "The King Died", instrumental ode to Martin Luther King in soundtrack speeches of African American hero and Bobby Kennedy.
