Bob Carboni has been writing and performing music since he was a child when he would pick up guitars and other instruments in his grandfather's studio. From that early age, Bob was influenced by many of the popular rock and pop artists of the late '60's and early '70's, including Led Zeppelin, Yes, and Pink Floyd in the rock genre, and softer pop sounds like Bread, Chicago, and Loggins & Messina. In the early stages of his career, Bob played in several bands local to Southern New Jersey, performing mostly cover songs and struggling to find original sounds to use as recordings. After moving around the East Coast for quite a while, Bob put his dream to become a recording artist on the back burner and pursued music more as a study, by learning more advanced songs and concepts, exploring classical guitar styles, and writing pieces that would hopefully expand into more complete works as he progressed. At the same time, he began to appreciate many other styles of music that were emerging in the late 80's and early 90's, and he was influenced by many of the new synth-based bands that were gaining popularity, such as New Order, Depeche Mode, Level 42, and others, but he continued to base his roots in rock. Many of the sounds Bob has created on his first album are blends of classic rock, soft rock, and synth pop.
In 2013, Bob started a collaboration with Joe Vitale, who is legendary for composing "Rocky Mountain Way" with Joe Walsh, and has been a favorite drummer of Walsh for many years. Joe has also toured with The Eagles, CSN, Peter Frampton, and many other rock superstars. From that meeting, Bob was truly inspired to create a unique and fresh sound that based its roots in classic rock, as Joe was able to bring a solid beat and impressively creative drum styles to the songs.
Bob released his first album, "Another Life" in 2015 to celebrate his rebirth into music and success with Joe. His second album, "Rage Against the Night" was released in 2019, and introduced new talent to the group. Alongside Joe Vitale, he worked with Tony Levin, David Santos, and Jason Mowery on the Rage album, and together they explored progressive and classic rock styles.
Bob is also the mastermind and frontman of the synthpop group, "The Statement of Sound", and in 2017 they released their first 5-song EP that is reminiscent of the iconic bands New Order and Depeche Mode. The Statement of Sound is currently working on new material for a full-length album to be released soon.
