After accompanying the main national and international jazz figures (Jorge Pardo, Moisés Sánchez, Ernesto Aurignac, Henry Cole, Noa Lur, Michael Olivera ...), the young pianist from Madrid presents his first album with the sole presence of the piano. A mix of classical, jazz and pop music where the virtuosity of David Sancho is interspersed with subtle passages, aerial harmonies, and a fresh and striking musical concept.
David Sancho Mangas was born in Madrid in 1987. He graduated in Piano and Pedagogy of the Piano at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Madrid, and later got the title in Piano Jazz by the Higher Conservatory of Rotterdam (Codarts Hogeschool voor de Kunsten), being awarded with the Nuffic Scholarship scholarship, the most prestigious in the Netherlands.
Between its formation we find teachers like Rubén Fernández Piccardo, Fernando Puchol, Akiko Ebi, Sebastián Mariné, Emilio Molina ... as well as jazz players of the likes of Kris Goessens, Rob van Bavel, Jason Moran, Dado Moroni, Barry Harris ...
Winner of the contests "Hazen intercentros" (2003), "Hazen Comunidad de Madrid" (2004) and the "Leidse jazz award" (2011), being the first winner not born in the Benelux.
In the classical scope he has recorded the "15 inventions to two voices" of JSBach (Ed. Enclave Creativa), he has participated with the Moisés Sánchez Ensemble in the interpretation of "The Consecration of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky in the "Art" cycles Sacro "of the Teatros del Canal in Madrid.
His own jazz production combines bands like M O N O D R A M A ("Modern Post Mortem") with Mauricio Gómez on saxophone, and Alberto Brenes on drums. He is also a member of SANCHEMA; a duet with the guitarist Chema Saiz, where avant-garde jazz is combined with electronic music, post rock ...
He is the producer and composer of the two albums ("The Breitners", "The Sustainable Life") of the hip hop-jazz band The Breitners, where he doubles with the MC Artes, taking the jam session for four years hop "Roots Jam" at Marula Café Madrid, with Alberto Guío on saxophone and Fede Marini on drums.
