Michael Rose is a musical comedian offering his absurd sensibilities to his jazz, musical theater, and pop-inspired songs. With the assistance of virtuoso musicians Neil Brown on Trumpet, Lianna Gekker on Piano, Yoshi Horiguchi on Double Bass, and Paul Keesling on Drums, Musical Rose brings his bizarre and delightful musical creations to life in "Michael Rose To The Occasion."
"Romantic Menagerie" is what happens when Michael puts as many animal puns into a single song as possible. With an latin, upbeat track, it's sure to delight anyone who likes animals.
"Who" is a funky relaxed song about the mating rituals of owls. Owls need love, too.
"The Ballad of Isabella Sassparilla" is based on a poem by Ogden Nash called "The Adventures of Isabel." In the poem, a little girl ironically defeats a series of monsters. This song takes and morphs that idea into Michael's own creation in this Ballad.
"Leap of Faith (Love Letter to Princess Peach)" takes from the most depressing and dark of topics: Super Mario. In this desperate lament, Mario longs for that which is always out of reach.
"Litigatrix" is song about Michael falling in love with a Dominatrix Lawyer. It's a hot beat good for any lawyer, judge, or... criminal (?) in your life.
"Tease", a sort-of sibling-song to Litigatrix, is where Michael describes all the various ways that he is a Tease in a cabaret-style.
"Workin' At The Starbucks Blues" is a song all about Millennial woes and the issues of our generation.
"Hot Lobbyist" is a jazzy, satire song wherein Michael plays a corrupt Senator that gets caught in financial and sexual scandals.
