The rock duo Cork teamed onetime Spin Doctors guitarist Eric Schenkman and former Mountain drummer Corky Laing, who were first introduced in 1996 by legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience bassist Noel Redding. The trio toured in late 1997, and early the following year Schenkman and Laing began writing songs for a proposed LP; though Redding did not sign on with the new group, he did appear on several of the cuts which ultimately comprised Cork's 1999 debut LP Speed of Thought. ~Jason Ankeny
