Jouni Somero (12.8.1963) is Finland's most versatile concert pianist. He has played nearly 3000 concerts around the world in Europe, Asia and North America. Somero has collaborated with several domestic and foreign singers, instrumentalists and conductors.

Somero is also the most recorded Finnish pianist. The recordings have been accumulated on various record labels (Naxos, BMG, Jubal, MILS, FC-Records, etc.) for a total of 95. Large-scale recording projects have been the Finnish Piano Music Anthology (vol.1-5) Sergei Bortkiewicz's entire piano production (vol.1-9) Pyotr Tchaikovsky total piano production (vol.1-6)

In September 2012, American fanfare magazine chose Somero's Rebikov album as the most significant piano album of the year. The Bortkiewicz recordings have also collected great reviews in America and Europe.

Jouni Somero studied at the Lausanne Conservatory in Switzerland (1981) and at the Cologne Academy of Music in Germany (1982-89)
In Switzerland, Somero studied in Fausto Zadra. Zadra was among the best-known pupils of legendary Vincenzo Scramuzza, along with Daniel Barenbo, Martha Argerich and Bruno Leonardo Gelber. Cologne School of Music was a professor at Somero. Herbert Drechsel, whose teacher was Clara Schumann, was one of the last students. Somero has also taken part in Georges Cziffra's Liszt Master classes.
