Mintcho Minchev
was born in 1950 in the Central Bulgarian city Gabrovo. He learned the violin quickly and early: he gave his first concert at the age of nine. Upon completion of the State Conservatory in Sofia, he got the finishing touches by Ifrah Newman in London in two years study. Mintcho Minchev is the most internationally famous Bulgarian violinist for many years. He has performed since he was nine years old. After winning several prizes at international violin competitions as »Wieniawski«, »Paganini« and "Flesch", his concert activity expanded to over 100 concerts per season. The United States, Japan, Australia, England, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, New Zealand, South Korea, etc. are the countries where he performs regularly and with many leading orchestras. He made numerous recordings. Since 1988 he is a member of the international of violin competition jury »Carl Flesch« in London and since 1990 Professor at the Folkwang Academy of Music in Essen. The pianist Nikita Ma- galoff, well known to us, provided him win 1974-76 the legendary Guarneri violin of the Hun- garian virtuoso Joseph Szigeti. In 1977 the Bulgarian State bought specially for him the precious Stradivarius Baron Wittgenstein violin, which he plays since then during his concerts and tours.
Galina Stamenova
ist eine der bekanntesten bulgarischen Geigerinnen. Als Absolventin der Juilliard School of Music in New-York als Studentin von Ivan Galamian aund Dorothy Delay gewann sie 1979 den 1. Preis im LSO-Shell-Wettbewerb. Ihre Karriere umfasste Auftritte als Solistin mit den besten Orchestern Europas und Amerikas.Von 1993 bis 2012 war sie erfolg- reiche 1. Konzertmeisterin der Antwerpener Oper, sowie in dieser Aufgabe und als Solistin bei fast allen Projekten der Jungen Philharmonie Köln von 1996 bis 2002 tätig. Galina Stamenova ist heute vorwiegend als Kammermusikerin und als gefragte Violin-Lehrerin aktiv. Galina Stamenova is one of the most famous Bulgarian violinists. As a graduate of the Juilliard School of music in New York as a student of Ivan Galamian and Dorothy DeLay she won the 1st prize in the LSO-shell competition in 1979. Her career included appearances as a soloist with the best orchestras of Europe and Amerikas. From 1993 to 2012 she was successful 1st concertmaster of the Antwerp Opera, as well as involved in this task and as a soloist in nearly all projects of the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra from 1996 to 2002. Galina Stamenova is active today mainly as a chamber musician and as a sought-after violin teacher.
Miltos Mumulides
was born in Russia, and started his musical edu- cation there at an early age. Later he finished his studies at the State Conservatory in Thessa- loniki with Professor Ungoreanou. The following three years he had the opportunity to work with such a conductors as Bernstein, Abbado, Dorati, S. Ozawa in the E.C.Y. Orchestra with which he toured Europe extensively, as well as Japan. Since 1991 Miltos is solo clarinettist in the Cologne New Philharmonic (directed by Volker Hartung) with which he played throughout Europe, New Zealand, Australia, UK, Canada, etc. As a soloist Miltos has performed in Greece with Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras under the batons of Baltas, Karitinos, Simeo- nides, Fidedzis and abroad with the Royal Flemish Opera Orchestra, Beethoven Academy, I Fiaminghi (Belgium) His debut with the Mozart concerto in the halls of Kolner Philharmonie, Laeiszhalle - Hamburg, Die Glocke - Bremen, Tonhalle - Dusseldorf, Concertgebouw - Am- sterdam, Sidney Opera House, etc. was received enthusiastically by audiences and critics alike. As an Orchestra musician Miltos has participated in many European Orchestras in Belgium, Germany and Holland. Since 1994 till now is regular member of Flemish Opera in Antwerp. Miltos has numerous TV and Radio appearances on his own for WDR, VARA, BRT, RAI, and NHK-Japan- TV, just to mention a few.
His CD recordings with the JPK Musik label include works by Mozart, Weber – (both Clarinet Quintets), Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and Beethoven’s Septet as well as works by Rossini, Kurpinski, Glazunov and Paganini. He also performs his own compositions and arrangements from classical, romantic and 20th century music. At present Mr Mumulides is Lecturer in the University of Macedonia,in Thessaloniki.
