The first half of this CD collects the melodious masterpieces, in particular, of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, while the last half does the maestro's ones. Therefore, 'Vocalise' is inserted between 'Romance' and 'Hungarian Dance,' because it is melodious as well as 'Romance.' The title implies that Suwanai likes the beautiful third part of Souvenir, 'Melody.' It surprised me because her maestro's play is famous, for example, the Violin Concerto of Tchaikovsky. Of course, 'Souvenir' of Wieniavsky here shows her maestro's character. However, she plays this Melody kindly and joyfully as if a young beautiful woman is humming. In spite of her maestro's character, she seems to love it heartly. It looks like another face of Suwanai.
Technically speaking, 'Myth' of Szimanovsky fails to cooperate with the piano and at the last part of 'Vocalise' the strong violin seems to hide the beautiful stream of the piano. Despite it, '3 Melody' and '7 Vocalise' are worth listening once.
