The Boy Least Likely To - The Greatest Hits (2018)

Fifteen years on from the release of their first single and twelve years since the release of their seminal debut album The Best Party Ever, The Boy Least Likely To celebrate their against all odds success with the release of their Greatest Hits album. The duo made up of Jof Owen and Pete Hobbs went from creating their own label to being launched into the limelight all in a matter of months.

Pop and touches of soul, country and glam, with a sweet juvenile nostalgia to it, played softly on homemade instruments - imagine someone produced the ditties you hummed to yourself whilst playing with Lego, but that someone happened to be George Martin. That resonates with any listener, leading them to grace the stages of KEXP and GMTV alike. Humour and heart-ache in equal measure, The Boy Least Likely To remind us what the pop music is really about, having fun and connecting wholeheartedly.

After the release of The Best Part Ever, they were ranked Rolling Stone's top ten bands of 2006 and The Best Party Ever was in the Rough Trade shop top 10 albums, as well as Pitchfork's top 50 albums of the year, who described the album as "a thing of wonder". Their follow-up albums The Law Of The Playground, The Great Perhaps and a Christmas album continued to warm the cockles of a broken heart.
