The David Caffey Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece jazz band, will be performing music from its recently released CD recording, ALL IN ONE. The DCJO plays compositions and arrangements of its leader David Caffey. The featured 4-movement suite on the CD, from which the CD draws its name, is written as a celebration of US immigrants from the past to the present. The band features soloists Greg Gisbert, Brad Goode, Wil Swindler, Peter Sommer, Kenyon Brenner, Steve Kovalcheck, Dana Landry, and Jim White.
The David Caffey Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece jazz band directed by composer/arranger David Caffey. The band has released 2 CDs, ENTER AUTUMN in 2015 and ALL IN ONE in 2018. The membership of the band is made up of some of the very best jazz performers from along the Colorado Front Range. Caffey’s music has been featured on big band recordings stretching back to 1979. His musical works have also been performed by many bands, which have toured the US, Europe, and Asia. Caffey is an educator, who has served in leadership organizations with several jazz organizations including the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers. He is Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of Northern Colorado. He retired from UNC in 2018 and now lives in Southern California.
