Zoot were a pop-rock band formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 1965. Known originally as "Down the Line", by 1967 they had changed their name to Zoot and in 1968 had relocated to Melbourne. They had a 1970 top five hit on Australia's Go-Set national singles chart covering "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles' released in 1970; but they disbanded in May 1971.

Members of note in the band include bass guitarist Beeb Birtles, who went on to be a founding member of Little River Band; guitarist, singer and songwriter Rick Springfield who moved to the United States in 1972, and achieved international fame as a solo artist, songwriter, and actor; lead singer Darryl Cotton who had a successful career as a solo artist, songwriter, and actor, both in Australia and abroad.
