Ray Lema - Transcendance (2018) Hi Res

Transcendence as a trance, because in all black music trance is an underlying element. Transcendence as dance because the rhythm and the groove are at the base of all the music of the musician of Congolese origin. And finally, transcendence as surpassing: cleavages, its own limits, its fears and its comfort zone.

For this project Ray Lema has brought together a sextet composed of Michel Alibo on bass and Nicolas Viccaro on drums for rhythm, the young Brazilian guitarist Rodrigo Viana who has accompanied him for ten years and two brass Irving Acao tenor sax and Sylvain Gontard on the trumpet. The nine unreleased tracks of Transcendence have returned to us by ear and have never come out.
