Asturcon - Asturcon (Reissue) (1981/2004)

Band from Asturias that recorded their only LP in 1980 (published in 1981 by Diapasón). It was a mix of asturian folk and symphonic rock (rock with roots, was called then), sung in asturian language. It had some festival themes like "La Coralina" or "Xareu en la 214" and others much more symphonic like "Mayu" or "El galope del Asturcón", this one in defense of the Asturcón; a race of horses living in the asturian mountains of El Sueve. The record was quite good then but as time passes by it has lost some of "substance". The band disolved before the recording of the already planned second album. (Orlando Iglesias)
