Granada is the name of a Madrid symphonic rock band, which was active between 1974 and 1979.
His promoter was flutist and keyboardist Carlos Cárcamo, who came from Skorpis, one of the classic groups of the Madrid underground of the early 1970s, and who had collaborated with people from the flamenco world, such as Lole and Manuel. Initially, the group was also integrated by bassist Chicho and drummer Buji. However, the musicians were changing in a generalized way and the formation was very unstable, 1 as was their music.
In 1975 they released their first album, "Hablo de una tierra", immersed in the Andalusian Rock and published by the Gong label of Movieplay, the redoubt of the genre. In this disc Manolo Sanlúcar intervened. However, his next album, "España, año 75", published in 1976, although it includes flamenco guitar, moves completely away from Andalusian Rock, to focus on a conceptual symphony.
The third album, "Valle del Pas" (1978), as the name suggests, is centered on northern folklore, including bagpipes and other traditional elements. The drummer on this record was Antoñito "Smash". The bass player, Julio Blasco. Later, he returns to the Andalusian Rock, including the guitarist Diego de Morón, although the band separates before reaching his next record.(google)
