Gaetano Pellino gained notice from the moment he first played guitar in 1978 at the age of 17. A native of Naples, Italy, it was only a short time, about four years, after Pellino picked up the instrument that he became a session musician touring with international pop sensation Franco Simone, appearing on Italian national television RAI1 and RAI2 with Simone.
By 1984, Pellino was working as a sound engineer and producer, leading to his creation of ‘Fandango Band’ in 1988. This powerful trio was well recognized and led to a multi-year tour of nearly 1000 shows in just six years. In 1993, Fandango Band produced the rock blues album "Il Leone e Il Suo Mercoledi," and became the opening act for ‘Deep Purple’ in Forli. In 1995, Gaetano moved to Perth, Australia, where ‘Fandango Band’ won the Bridgetown Blues Festival Award as ‘Most Outstanding Electric Band.’ Upon returning to his native country, Pellino opened his own recording studio. Here he further perfected his skills as a sound engineer and producer, working in many productions, from pop to hard rock, soul, hip-hop, television, and a successful independent movie. As a producer, Pellino won a Golden Disc and a Platinum Disc in 2004 and 2007, for his work on two of his brother’s compact discs. Returning to live performance of his signature rock-blues music, Gaetano published "Kick'd Out From Heaven" (2005), "Watermelon Slices" (2006) and "First Love" (2008), “2nd Century Blues” (2013) and “On The Other Hand” (2014) - double cd featuring the tremendous talented vocalist Soul Sarah - for which he was the writer, producer, and sound engineer. During the same time, Pellino toured extensively across Italy and Southern Europe. In May, 2009, he performed as the headliner at the internationally recognized ‘Playing With Fire’ Concert Series in Omaha, Nebraska. In July 2012 Gaetano gained a large consense at the International Blues Festival in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada. In August 2014 Gaetano Pellino was invited in Omaha, NE, again, to play, along with several blues artists from all over America and Europe, at the benefit concert. On that occasion Gaetano has been recognized as one of the best guitarists on stage. Back to Nebraska in March and April 2015 he hired a recording studio in collaboration with some well known local musician, to record his latest work “Against Any Wind” that contains many original songs and is set for release soon. Pellino’s trademark powerful guitar, bluesy voice and wide rhythms make for an unforgettable performance.
