Ólafur Arnalds has released his fourth solo LP, ‘re:member,’ through Mercury KX. Arnalds collaborated with Halldor Eldjarn on their very own piece of software; paired with instruments like the piano, it’s helped Arnalds create sounds that would have been otherwise impossible to make. But there’s also no shortage of rich, shimmering live strings and percussion to complement the existing electronics.
“This is my breaking out-of-a-shell album. It’s me taking the raw influences that I have from all these different musical genres and not filtering them. It explores the creative process and how one can manipulate that to get out of the circle of expectations and habit.”
