Oppidamus is a World fusion album containing inspirations from a European pagan folk music, Irish celtic music, Slavic traditional tunes and Fantasy themed film soundtracks.
A vast majority of music on this album was recorded on acoustic instruments like whistles, harp, mandolin, drums but it is tastefully combined with electronic music and a bass guitar in the background.
Some songs on this album can offer a very relaxing meditative atmosphere created by ethereal soft vocals accompanied by harp, irish whistles, small percussions and frame drums, while other tunes have a bit more dramatic atmosphere build on a sound of raw female pagan vocals accompanied by a jaw harp, bouzouki, medieval shawm or hurdy gurdy.
For those who prefer joyful dance tunes there is also some celtic electro featuring irish whistles accompanied by a strong beat and a synthesiser and for those who like experimental music, there is a brand new D&B track in 5/4 time signature combining synthesisers, recorders, exotic scales and a slavic female choir. You might come across a few songs with a language you are not able to place, that is because it is a unique fictional language created to evoke an ancient world which can be found only in your own imagination..
Some of those tracks are supported by sounds of sea waves, clock ticking, thunders and church bells..All these elements were recorded live to create an original and unique world called “Oppidamus".
