"The Cut" (2014) is a film by German director Fatih Akin, based on the Armenian Genocide. The film score is by the Berlin musician and producer Alexander Hacke.
The film was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 71st Venice International Film Festival. The story is about the life and experiences of a young Armenian by the name of Nazareth Manoogian, in the light of the Armenian Genocide and its repercussions in different parts of the world.
Alexander Hacke was nominated for the German Motion Picture Award, in the category original score for "The Cut".
