Jack Adaptor - The Spoiler Versions (2018)

Avant-pop mavericks Jack Adaptor return in 2018 with The Spoiler Versions, a meditation on modernity and mortality. The Spoiler Versions are the things we learn along the way. Life is not perfect but it will have to do for now.

The music is composed, played, recorded and produced by Christopher Cordoba, who creates diverse musical landscapes which follow no rules and perfectly complement Paul Frederick’s optimistic pessimism.

“Say When” features guest vocals by Claudia Brucken (of Propaganda fame). As if Trevor Horn had bumped into Ennio Morricone in the studio and got Claudia to sing the title track to this year’s must-see arthouse movie.

“Proven Warrior” is a punk electro-funk workout with the spirit of Don Van Vliet and sounds reminiscent of early PIL, Hot Chip and Cameo. Finnish artist and animator Jenny Jokela has provided the promotional film (as well as the LP cover painting).


“Queen of the Universe” is a delicate R’n’ B ballad with live instrumentation and features Evan Jenkins (Neil Cowley Trio) on the drum stool. The film for this song is directed by UK artist John Walter and will be previewed worldwide in February.
