Steve was the first African American to be inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame. In country music he worked in Nashville and performed with Loretta Lynn, The Statler Bros., 'Grandpa Pa' Jones (of Hee Haw) Kenny Price, and Billy Walker of the Grand Ole Opry. Steve wrote a song called' Lets Take Time for America' that was performed on the White House lawn.
