Viva la Difference is the fourth album by Eric Stewart released in January 2009. Originally, the album was planned to be released in late 2006/early 2007, but because of the restoration of a building he bought the recording of the album was delayed several times.
Just like the previous album, Eric played almost all instruments on the album. The album is also way more bluesier than "Do Not Bend"
'Gnome Sweet Gnomes' is written about Gnomes of Zurich, which is a disparaging term for Swiss bankers. The term was used by Harold Wilson who was a Labour Party politician in 1964 when he accused the Swiss bankers of pushing the Pound down on the foreign exchange markets by speculation.
The latest release from the former lead guitarist and lead vocalist of 10cc. This 2009 release has a variety of styles but its overall feel is smoother and bluesier than his previous album. The lyrics of such songs as Gnome Sweet Gnomes and Millennium Blues are as witty and cutting as many famous 10cc tracks such as Wall St Shuffle and Art for Art's Sake. We're Not Alone is a great ballad from Eric; the ethereal quality of his voice on this track is reminiscent of his performance on his most famous song, I'm Not In Love. Eric's guitar playing is better than ever and the album demonstrates his skill for the well placed, precise guitar solo.
