Singer/actor Nakia Reynoso, aka Nakia, is an Austin, Texas-based musician who appeared as a contestant on the 2011 season of The Voice. Born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nakia spent time in Chicago before settling in Austin in 2002. Besides performing his own music, Nakia was a member of Fastball guitarist Miles Zuniga's side project the Small Stars, and appeared in several local theatrical productions. He released a debut EP in 2007, followed in 2009 by his debut full-length album, Water to Wine. In 2010, Nakia sang backing vocals on Alejandro Escovedo's album Street Songs of Love. In 2011, Nakia was accepted onto NBC's vocal competition show The Voice. With Cee Lo Green as his coach, Nakia ultimately made it to the semifinals and finished in seventh place. In 2013, Nakia released his second solo album, Drown in the Crimson Tide.
