Skuggpoeten is a band with members Embee (Looptroop Rockers) , singer/composer Esmeralda Moberg and Embee's dad, writer Roger Bergkvist. The name comes from a review of Roger’s book, where he was refered to as ”Skuggpoeten” (The Shadow Poet).
Musically it takes off within traditional Swedish Folk Music and blends with beats and jazzy electronica.
The album is entirerly based on poems from one of Roger's books- "Dikter från världens mitt med omnejd". Roger didn't know about the project until the album was almost done.
Esmeralda does everything from writing theatre music and combining it live with hour long improvisations, singing contemporary music in EAM concertos, touring europe with a physical theatre company, making ad lib melodies for poems brought by the audience, and combining hardcore traditional hymns with noise music at midnight festivals north of the polar circle.
