After having passed their 30th anniversary the Munich-based LTB proudly presents the new album “AGE OF GOLD”. The CD includes 9 songs, plus 2 Bonus tracks, one of them a Live recording.
LTB has a very unique own style which may confuse those reviewers, who wish to strictly pigeon-hole musicians into distinct genres, so comparisons seem to be pale.
LTB is touching Progressive Rock grounds, although there is a strong Folk-Rock influence based on celtic and anglo-saxon folk music. Moreover, the use of complex harmonics and the style of improvisation and soloing gives a strong hint to Jazzrock. Thus, maybe one could label the music as ProgFolk with jazzy edges. The music is sometimes softer, sometimes more powerful with many interwoven instrumental sections with epic violins, guitars and flutes, outstanding is definitely the Indonesian violin virtuoso Luluk Purwanto. The lyrics are mostly based on the adaptation of romantic poetry of the likes of William Blake and George Byron, including also two songs in French and Spanish idioms.
