Fils de militaire originaire du Dakota du Nord, Cameron Jibril Thomaz s'entraîne dès l'âge de 12 ans à enregistrer dans le studio de son père. Il développe dès lors son univers et, basé à Pittsburgh, se fait connaître sous l'alias de Wiz Khalifa, rappeur mêlant influences gangsta, cloud rap et pop. Auteur de plusieurs mixtapes dès 2007, Khalifa s'impose rapidement comme l'un des espoirs underground de la scène américaine. C'est finalement le single "Black & Yellow" qui créera le buzz avec son utilisation lors du Superbowl, propulsant les ventes de son premier album officiel de 2011, Rolling Papers. Suite à une collaboration avec son ami Snoop Dogg pour la bande originale du film Mac + Devin Go to High School, Khalifa livre une suite officielle à Rolling Papers en 2012 avec O.N.I.F.C.. ~ Olivier Duboc
