John Neschling conductor
Brazilian conductor John Neschling studied conducting in Vienna with Hans Swarowsky and Reinhold Schmid, and continued his training at Tanglewood, where he worked with Leonard Bernstein and Seiji Ozawa. He held various positions with opera houses in Europe, and conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra. He was the conductor and musical director of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra from 1997 to 2008, and was named the artistic director of the Municipal Theatre of São Paulo in 2013. ~ Blair Sanderson
