Jack Grunsky was born in Austria in 1945 and grew up in Canada. He began his musical career in Toronto in 1966, where he signed a record deal with Amadeo with his band "External Link Jack's Angels." After the dissolution of Jack's Angels, he recorded three solo albums for Amadeo and worked part-time In Austria, Grunsky is regarded as one of the birth assistants and pioneers of Austropop, composing André Heller's title "Catherine", which became one of Heller's first hit parade successes. In the 1970s he moderated on Ö3 a series entitled "Folk with Jack".

In 1974 he left Austria for Canada and in the following decades made a name for himself as the creator of sophisticated children's music. He has been awarded the Juno Award four times.
