The members of this Calgary, Alberta-based Scottish folk quartet were diverse in their experiences and well-respected in the folk community in Calgary and beyond. Multi-instrumentalist Gordon McCulloch provided leadership for the band as well as vocals, guitar and bodhran. Diane Kooch had a 13 year career playing bass before she joined Seanachie, performing with Same Difference, Tinderbox and Maud. Robin Tufts' experience straddled cultures -- with focus on Celtic and Latin music styles. Ann Gray was an award-winning bagpipe player, who also had the ability to perform on several other traditional Celtic instruments. The band's debut album, Telling Tales, showed off their mostly traditional takes on folk music; their follow-up, A Quarrel With Whiskey, continued in the same vein.
