Euzen - Metamorph (2015)

Euzens third album “Metamorph” shows that the band manages to innovate their true spirit without compromising their universe. The genre is still alternative and progressive, but this time the compositions carry a clear pop element which once and for all shows the bands ability to refine their capacity to experiment and use it to invent a fresh take on modern, Nordic pop music.
The theme of Metamorph is “transformation” and the lyrics of lead singer Maria Franz vary from the life empowering “Words” over the melancholic “Me and My” to the sophisticated reflections on the dark side of people in “Phobia”.
The compositions are powerful, bold and genuinely worked through. In addition to the classic symphonic landscapes with an electronic topping, the tracks span from extremes such as a cabaret atmosphere in “Vis a Vis” to James Bond-like ballads with “Metamorph” and “Mirage”. The listener is invited on to a rollercoaster ride with valleys of epic beauty and tops of forcefull virtuos rock.
Christopher Juul is still king of the cockpit as the composing, recording and mixing artist of “Metamorph” - in addition to his efforts on keys and as the graphic designer of the artwork. Kristian Uhre, Harald Juul and Thomas Welin as always deliver masterly on drums, guitar and bass. With the release of "Metamorph” Euzen invites a wider audience and clearly states the bands devotion to the music; Euzen has never been more ready to deliver.
