Jennifer Rush - Classics (1998)

JENNIFER RUSH’s latest album release to date is “CLASSICS”. For that special project she re-recorded eight of her biggest hits and personal favourite tracks (all from the first 3 albums) as well as four brandnew songs (all co-written by JENNIFER) with a huge classical orchestra. Arranged and produced by Leslie Mandoki and Laszlo Bencker “CLASSICS” was released in November 1998 by Virgin Records. It was a musical experience, a dream and an idea JENNIFER RUSH wanted to make come true for a long time. And she hit the taste of time with it! JENNIFER’s big hits in classical sound perfectly combined with her crystal clear voice had an incomparable effect. The re-recordings included “THE POWER OF LOVE”, “DESTINY”, “HERO OF A FOOL” and “AVE MARIA” in an outstanding Spanish ballad version. One of the four new tracks “THE END OF A JOURNEY” was chosen to be the first single and to open the JENNIFER RUSH symphony. “CLASSICS” which was released and strongly promoted around Christmas time entered the German Top 30 only a few days after its release and JENNIFER’s appearances on TV were triumphal. One of the TV-screen highlights was Jose Carreras’ charity gala on which JENNIFER RUSH not only performed “THE END OF A JOURNEY” but also sang a duet with Carreras in the final hymn “AMIGOS PARA SIEMPRE”.
_____The “second act” of “CLASSICS” opened in April 1999 when JENNIFER RUSH toured all over Germany with her “CLASSICS IN CONCERT”-tour. Her first real tour after almost 12 years! On stage with her was a classical orchestra as well as a band and JENNFER RUSH stood in the spotlight and was honoured by her audience with sold our houses and standing ovations.
_____Since Spring 1999 JENNIFER RUSH has disappeared from the public eye, only appearing for a few charity events and special performances. In the meantime both companies Columbia / Sony Music and EMI have released mid-priced song collection on CD (“THE BEST OF JENNIFER RUSH”, “PREMIUM GOLD COLLECTION” and “THE POWER OF LOVE – THE BEST OF JENIFER RUSH (UK)”, but JENNIFER is not involved in those releases as they don’t represent her current career continuity. No reason to worry, because in New York and London she is preparing her upcoming 10th studio album which is due for release in Spring 2002. Again she wants to come back with a high standard production, a new sound and new reasons why her fans love her so much.
