Tricatel is a French label founded by producer and artist Bertrand Burgalat, focused on easy-listening and ‘retro-guardism’, featuring artists such as April March, Michel Houellebecq, Valerie Lemercier, Katerine and Burgalat himself. This recently released album by French outfit Catastrophe entitled La Nuit Est Encore Jeune (The Night Is Still Young) told the story of a night crossing – and was their sophomore effort on the label. Said to be a piece for every hour of the night, from 10 in the evening to 10 in the morning, Satellites is the remix package to accompany the release – and rest assured that these renditions are just as dreamy and full of charm. Highlights include the sugary and neon-lit remix of “L’amour Tout Nu” by label boss Burgalat, Alice Lewis haunting remix of “M.M.W.E.”, Pavane’s nu-gaze perspective of “Vertigo” (which was reminiscent of German legend Ulrich Schnauss) – which gets another dream pop reinterpretation by Herve Bouetard soon after.
