Maceo Plex is the house music production pseudonym of the highly acclaimed techno producer Eric Estornel AKA Maetrik (Dirtybird / Cocoon). Having released a plethora of singles over the past 10 years on various key taste-making labels, Crosstown Rebels prepare to unleash a techno soul legend in his new incarnation under his Maceo Plex moniker. Maceo Plex allows Eric to push the production envelope further, embracing a more cosmic funk sound that sits within the paradigm of his house music aesthetic. The emergence of such an entity has been the result of a need for feeling, and a quest to fullfil his need to inject funk into the world. It has already proving to be quite productive with a forthcoming album 'Life Index set for on Damian Lazarus imprint in early 2011.

The first to be heard of such works comes in the form of Vibe Your Love , a mesmerizing sonic journey filled with serenity, an intergalactic experiment at odds with its deeply organic approach that exudes elements of fantasy and tranquility, with Peter King singing a the wondrous lyrics of Stevie Wonder's For your love .

Zev strengthens the soulful veins of Vibe Your Love in his Southern Sunrise rework. As one half of Wolf + Lamb, he shares much in common with this musical style. His version is equally evocative and yet more imaginative, its dreamy vocal creating a sense of awe.

Maceo Plex's musical creativity began its evolution in 1993, heavily influenced by other modern funk theorists Model 500, Kenny Larkin, Idjut Boyz, Convextion,. Now in 2010, Maceo has begun to strip back his robotic body armor known as Maetrik in order to expose a more musical groove based side the world has not seen yet exclusively for Crosstown Rebels.
