Gord Bamford - Neon Smoke (2018)

Canadian country music star Gord Bamford released his eighth studio album on Friday, a collection titled Neon Smoke.

“Each time I set out to make a new record my goal is to make the best record of my career and stay true to what has got me to where I am today,” the 41-year-old singer said, in a release.

“I’ve had the opportunity of a lifetime making people all over the world sing, dance, laugh, cry and love through the power of song. I shake my head every day with the thought that I actually support my family doing what I love.”

Bamford, who was born in Australia but raised in Alberta, has had a string of hits during his career, including “When Your Lips Are So Close.”

Neon Smoke has already spawned the singles “Livin’ On Summertime” and “Ain’t It Grand” – the latter a collaboration with Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy.

“I have watched the business change over the years and I am proud to present my best record yet,” Bamford said. "Neon Smoke is not just a single or an EP, it’s a 15-song album that will take the listener on a musical journey.”

Bamford will hit the road to support the new album, starting with a Jan. 24 gig in Brampton, Ont. The 29-city Neon Smoke tour wraps up on March 2 in Kelowna, BC.
