Tom Rosenthal's third studio album 'Bolu', written in the months following the birth of his first child, comprises 16 varied tracks – a number of which offer reflections on his new-born daughter, and the world she is entering.
'Bolu' also marks Rosenthal's first foray into the world of the upbeat. As well as his usual piano balladry, 'Bolu' includes a handful of songs that can be danced to, including 'Watermelon' (one of the Huffington Post's top 20 music videos of 2014). There are also reflections on modern life in 'The Meaningless of Numbers' and 'Don't You Know How Busy and Important I Am?' but fundamentally, this is a album of notes written to his daughter.
'Tom Rosenthal's songs have always been moved by nature, creativity, strangeness or love, but to hear his simple philosophies for life tied up into such bright, generous and joyful advice for a child does give way to something extra-special.' (Kim Hillyard, When I Heard You)
