How thick should the coat be that you have to grow in your life? How much childhood is there in everyday life? How often do you have to bite in lemons before the lemonade tastes good again? Mia Diekow questions herself and lets her float through the wondrous world of her music. In their songs, there are no easy answers and no dead straight emotions. They are delicate songs, in which more and more layers of meaning are incorporated. And in which she listens with linguistic sensitivity to her feelings, memories and moods. "Trouble in Paradise" presents a successful search. Five years ago Diekow's debut "The Logic Is On The Ground" was released by a major, but she wanted to decide for herself on her second album. For this she has collected ideas for years and summarized them in texts. But especially composed, recorded and produced alone: ​​at home in the living room and in the Berlin Chez-Chérie studio, without a label or agents behind it, only with the help of a few befriended musicians, especially Tilman Hopf. The result is an idiosyncratic, thoughtful and spun melange of chanson and chamber pop, blues and jazz, which is here and there atmospherically condensed with filmmusikartigen sounds.
