In his ongoing career as a composer, Alan Silvestri has scored some of the most iconically revered films in Hollywood history, amassing over a hundred credits to the tune of two Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, as well as three Grammy awards. While stylistically diverse, the unifying voice of Silvestri's work are rhythmic melodies whose themes continue to embody movie excitement and drama for generations of moviegoers. Among his many film scores Alan Silvestri's is perhaps best-known for his work with director Robert Zemeckis, starting with their first movie project, Romancing the Stone (1984), and continuing through the next decades with many more blockbuster classics. Silvestri and Zemeckis teamed up on many successful films, including the number one box office hit Forrest Gump (1994).

With the soundtrack of Allied they once more continue their cooperation. In the meantime, Silvestri scored many films outside of his work with Zemeckis, including Predator (1987), The Bodyguard (1992), Stuart Little (1999), Father of the Bride (1995), the compilation Voyages: The Film Music Journeys of Alan Silvestri, and many more. He remained a highly in-demand screen composer into the next century, which saw him win a Grammy for the song "Believe" (co-written with Glen Ballard) from The Polar Express (2004) and Emmys for his work on the TV series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (2014). He also continued to collaborate with Zemeckis on films including Cast Away (2000), The Polar Express and Beowulf (2007). His most recent work was the biopic The Walk (2015) about high-wire artist Philippe Petite.
