The Berlin composer Johannes Motschmann united in its electro-acoustic trio album great traditions of German music history: classical and electronic music.

Rau, melancholic and dark is this played live electrical sound, in the analog synthesizer, an old Wurlitzer piano and the famous CP-70 piano nest with a huge Multipercussionset and violin sounds rhythmically and loose in space. In this music, the career of John Motschmann, who studied composition, piano and electronic music and has composed for large orchestra reflects.

Even as a teenager, he played in various bands, loved New Wave and electronic music alike. With the album "Electric Fields" him an image of a map has succeeded: He thought together the two great traditions of German music history in a new way, captured Stimmungsbilder a night ride through Berlin and created his own sound between electronic dance music, avant-garde and orchestral soundscapes - implemented in a classic band Instrumentation as a trio.

Movie Tangerine Dream and other representatives of the Berlin School are audible. Already in the 70s experimented with synthesizers and have a profound impact on the musical culture of New Wave about Brian Eno to Techno. Motschmann takes all these influences, mixed Ambient, Industrial and Dronesounds with sound fields that generate repeatedly associations to classical music. He finds in it the obvious connection to the virtuoso composition tradition of Bach, Satie or Stockhausen, whose craft Motschmann has learned.

The rhythms of Electric Fields are designed meticulously as musical texts and were recorded by the trio in the studio live. All instruments have been included in the same room, so the handmade electric sound plastically and sounds natural. At the Johannes Motschmanns page are the multipercussionist David Panzl and the mixer Boris Bolles, which contributes, among other Synthesizer Parts and violin melodies.
