Alameda is a four-piece folk-rock band out of Portland, OR. Founded by singer/guitarist Stirling Myles and cellist Jessie Dettweiler, complemented by Barra Brown on drums and Phil Nelson on guitar, Alameda has grown like so many Douglas firs: patiently watching, allowing influences to collect on their instruments like mossy halos. The songwriting and arrangements owe equally to Bonnie Prince Billy and Deer Tick as to Iron & Wine and Sufjan Stevens.
