Milky Wishlake - Wait for Us (2016)

On his debut album, Milky combines these qualities with unexpectedly experimental electronic sounds enhanced by classical piano. Asked about his inspirations, Milky Wishlake enumerates artists as diverse as Queen, Kendrick Lamar, Björk, and Talk Talk, as well as the eclectic sounds of the underground dance scene. Music journalists have compared his sound to that of Sohna, Burial and How To Dress Well. Milky Wishlake's debut album, titled "Wait for Us", is an intriguing mixture of pop, electronica, dance, neo-soul, deep pop, edm, and liquid pop, all immersed in the distinctive 1980s and 90s stylistic. Milky Wishlake is the author of all music and lyrics on the album. "Wait for Us" features guest vocal performances by Dawid Podsiadlo and Oly. Musicians who took part in the album recording sessions include the renowned Polish drummer Lukasz Moskal (Zakopower, Nosowska, Fisz, Sister Wood) as well as Péter Somos, drummer from Hungary who regularly performs with Milky. All material for the album was recorded at Nextpop Studio under the supervision of Robert Amirian. "Wait for Us" is the first single to promote the release.
