Randy Campbell and Caleb Kallander were a bit surprised when just two jam sessions into knowing each other they had already written their title track song to their future record, Two Worlds; and a world of liquid rock & roll to follow suit. From acidic guitar solos to howling vocals, Seattle's Dire Fire has turned into a cult of diversity, with a feel that is undeniably rock & roll, yet modern enough to captivate all audiences.

The band's roots were first laid down in 2015 when guitarist Caleb Kallander met singer Randy Campbell at a blues/folk open mic. Caleb, clad in leather, rings, boots, scarves, and the essential sunglasses, was performing originals and covers from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd, and other classic iconic bands while Randy played originals as well as unique and growly covers of Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Doors, and others.
"I first saw Randy at the Urban Timber. It was, back in.. January? February? I remember thinking.. 'This cat's got some lyrics'. He was raw, yeah, but who isn't? I knew he was a musician of my caliber; he's a guy I could start a band with" says Caleb, "I've played with a lot of musicians. Some of the best. But Randy and I, us two-we have this energy, you know? This undeniable electricity that comes about when we play together. It's like nothing I've ever experienced, really. "
As fate would have it, only a week or so after meeting at that open mic, the prodigious young men ended up at the same party together, with guitars in hands as they always had. Playing all the same tunes and playing together like they had never played with anyone before. They started meeting up at Caleb's house, in his basement studio, and in two short months Caleb and Randy, now known as Dire Fire, has established a solid set list of distinctive tunes, bound to make their way on their first record together, 'Two Worlds'; referring to the two forces that founded the band - Randy Campbell and Caleb Kallander.

The band was soon joined by Dakota Bown, who had first met Caleb at the same open mic, playing guitar and singing Beatles songs. They become good friends, but never thought about playing in a band together until Caleb and Randy had been going for a month or so and needed a bassist. "It was like jumping onto a moving train," Dakota recalls, just playing bass for a month or two, "being new to the bass as an instrument was a challenge and a bit intimidating, but having Caleb and Randy there expecting me to do something amazing pushed me to see the vision Caleb and Randy had more and more every day. It's already been such a trip!"

Although they couldn't be happier than they are with their devoted fans in Washington, Dire Fire sets their eyes nationally. Following the January release of their debut record, Two Worlds, Dire Fire is planning a tour that will stretch from Northern Washington to Southern California, for just a first tour. "We've waited our whole lives for this." Randy says, "and now it's actually happening. This is it, you know? This is IT."
"What it comes down to for us," remarks Caleb, ‘Is that we really dig what we’re doing, and we’ve brought a lot of people something they really dig too." "Exactly," agrees Randy, "Even without all the success, we’ve met so many people who say 'this is the kind of music I love, why is nobody else playing it?'
We wouldn’t want to do anything else in the world."
