Golden Globe and Grammy nominated composer Clint Mansell’s brooding, edgy and beautifully unsettled orchestral score to Ben Wheatley’s eagerly awaited film adaptation of J.G Ballard’s High-Rise.
Described by Hollywood Reporter as “a lustrous retro-classical score bursting with ironic good cheer”, Clint Mansell’s music has a meaty, steadfast presence throughout the visual spectacular of the savage societal breakdown.
Former Pop Will Eat Itself frontman turned soundtrack composer, Clint Mansell is best known for his work with long time collaborator Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, Noah). He also scored Duncan Jones’ Directorial debut Moon, and has lent to his talent to films as diverse as Filth, Faster, and Last Night.
Starring Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, High-Rise is a visionary tale of human society slipping into extreme violence. The once-peaceful residents of a desirable apartment block quickly spiral into a world ruled by primal urges in which elevators become vicious battlegrounds and cocktail parties degenerate into brutal raids on "enemy" floors.

The film received its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2015, its European premiere at the 63rd San Sebastián Film Festival and is released in the United Kingdom on 18 March 2016 through StudioCanal.

REVIEWS
“The soundtrack sounded incredible in the cinema. I was very f**king happy indeed… Revel in the sound of a bombastic and hubristic 70s that was doomed to failure…Enjoy.” Ben Wheatley

‘’Proud to proclaim that in divisive world of Ben Wheatley’s High Rise, I’m solidly in the YES camp. Particular plaudits to Clint Mansell’’ - Mark Kermode - BBC

"Whatever the reason, the result is gloriously retro: fitted three-piece suits, shagadelic furnishings and a Moog-satured score by Clint Mansell make the whole film feel like a Pink Floyd album cover come to life." - Time Out

"Clint Mansell’s sultry score invites us languidly into the fun and games..." - The Daily Telegraph

"Clint Mansell's lustrous retro-classical score bursts with ironic good cheer…" - The Hollywood Reporter

"High Rise’s greatest triumphs are within the elegantly scored and edited montages. Clint Mansell delivers his best soundtrack here, his score is grandly aspirational, despite the horrors being shown on screen." - Mehtodsunsound.com

"A ravishing score by Clint Mansell." - ScreenCrush

"...a powerful score by Clint Mansell" - NewInCinema

"It is the addition of Clint Mansell to the score of the film that makes High-Rise even more odd, tense, and even horrifying." - InfiniteRespawns.com
