I’ve been hitting the repeat button over and over on this one.. Tons of attitude, guaranteed to get you feet stompin’-head noddin’ dizzy! This album makes me want to get stupendously drunk on hard liquor, steal a car and fill it with shady people, blast it on the stereo and just roam out in the wild nothing, taking down as much of the city as possible on my way! If this was the 60’s, your mom probably wouldn’t let you have this record. You know that’s a good sign.

Edmonton band Betrayers has really got some Cool-to-the-bone going on. Some 60/70’s inspired garage-droned psych with just the right vibes. There’s a sorta dark feel within this album, but it’s an infectously joyous one. The guitars just keeps pouring out those great licks, and the swirling organ is never far behind. The rythm section is crazy tight, and the fact that they run with two drummers builds to this with perfect detailed fills and percussion. The cool, somewhat distorted vocals fits like a glove in all this.
