Lead singer and songwriter Mr. S.D. Ineson has described the Saints' newly released thematically connected 10 song set "TUPELO" as "Mythological Americana" where various genres... dylanesque surrealistic blues, slack alt-country, straight up folk rawk, and old timey ballads, combine musically with lyrics inspired by the mythological atmospheres and birth locations of American Roots Music.
Tupelo, birthplace of Elvis and John Lee Hooker's flood apocalypse song, battered by Tornados, and the ever-flowing Mississippi, which runs through the history of rock n'roll, deep country, folky wierdness, long gone American Radio, and the Blind Love Blues.
Aiding this musical deja-vue memoir of Americana are the multi-instrumentalist devotees of The Band's Garth Hudson inhabiting the soundscape of this album. Jick wins-Low the album producer, drummer, trombonist, fiddler, stringman, Lee Kirby, blowing curious melodica and amplified harmonica, pumping the accordion, laying down bluesy piano and raucous hammond. Mr Steve Samosky on glissando Bass, and the exotic Roberto Morales bending his electric fender guitar.
