Solvey - Solvey (2015)

After contributing vocals to the latest projects from Hooray For Earth and Autre Ne Veut and earning Band To Watch honors as part of sisterly duo Zambri, New Yorker Jessica Zambri has branched out from her former band’s weirdo electro-pop to grandiose indie rock and begun performing under the name Solvey. Zambri’s husband, former Hooray For Earth frontman Noel Heroux, is backing her up in this new venture, so in one sense it’s a family affair, but it’s really more of a solo project for Zambri. That’s her vision coming to life in the decadent blend of layered vocals, thunderous drums and epic bass swells of “Solvey,” a track from Solvey’s upcoming album Solvey. (Yep, she pulled a Bad Company and/or Black Sabbath and/or Iron Maiden!) The song careens forward in true anthemic fashion as Zambri asks, “Where are you going/Can I come too?.” Zambri and Heroux co-produced the track, with Future Islands/Beach House producer Chris Coady handling the mixing.
