Crosss are back with a dense, ominous and cerebral album that expands on the formula which made "Obsidian Spectre" such a critical success. Once again, they straddle the line between metal and psych, with a noticeable shift towards the former. This is a record that hits hard on many levels.
Black majick gloom crew Crosss have confirmed they've conjured up more psych-touched rock tunes for their second full-length effort, LO. The band's next LP arrives June 16 through Telephone Explosion.
A press release confirms that Crosss have gone through some changes since their early days as a duo in Halifax, with the band now playing as a trio out in Toronto. The follow-up to 2013's Obsidian Spectre is said to find the band further blending the lines between indie, metal and drone with dirge-like rhythms, as well as "haunting and memorable vocal melodies."
The album features eight new numbers on the A-side, with the flip focusing on a full-side composition called "Enthroning the 4 Acts." You'll find the full tracklisting down below, as well as a dark arts-dabbling new video for opener "Interlocutor." Warning: the ritualistic display is wrought with lo-fi horror movie effects, meaning you're in store for some gory, guts-grabbing visuals.
Crosss have a number of festival and club dates on the horizon, with a tour schedule running off and on between May and July. The show specifics can be found beneath LO's album info.
