Roger Roger - Melodies With a Beat (1974)

Electronic and melodic easy listening care of Roger Roger. While not one my favourite library music artists, I can't deny that Roger had a keen ear for what made a good tune. Most of the tracks are a combination of strings and electronics with an emphasis on melody. The whole album is very, very French so if you are into library music from that part of the world or just want to hear some curious easy listening then here's your chance.

On the back cover is reported "Full Orchestral Sound" but actually the music is fully electronic and it only resembles the orchestral mood using adequate particular sounding machinery at needed pitch.
The strings section is played with the Arp Solina String Ensemble pad, the bass is electronic but the drumming with the eventual adding percussions we hear are normally played by the usual studio session man drummer who played on many Roger Lps.
Plus there's an always changing palette of normal instruments for harmonical contrapunctual effects: piano, harpsichord, electric organ.
