Self-titled debut from local Baltimore guy Zane Campbell featuring Walker Teret (Celebration, Lower Dens, etc.) and Susan Alcorn (Jandek, Fred Frith, etc.). Produced and mixed by Chris Freeland (Wye Oak, Lower Dens, etc.). Also the debut release for the new Baltimore label Emperor Records.

A sobering collection of requiems, ill-fated love affairs, and cautionary tales from Country music’s master of the macabre. Zane is the torchbearer of the Campbell family- an unheralded clan of renegade musicians and songwriters whose trajectory is intricately woven into the evolution of Country music. The most well known of the bunch, Zane’s aunt Ola Belle Reed (born Ola Wave Campbell in 1916), was a whip smart banjo picker and bandleader who could outplay, outsing, and outperform any sonofabitch in the house. These days her nephew is proudly carrying on the family tradition.
