American tradition and Norwegian… well, I don’t know, minds, temperament and perhaps nature make for a rather excellent musical match these years. Real Ones, Bigbang, House By The Lake, Tommy Tokyo and Simen Mitlid, just to name some of those who’ve gotten to us the past six years of doing ALL SCANDINAVIAN, and now Torgeir Waldemar have all released amazing songs and albums exploring folk and americana. The latter, following up on his 2012 debut EP ‘Take Me Home’, released his first full length a few weeks ago at the tender age of 40, probably making him the best kept musical secret in Norway, and it is a brilliantly moving americana n’ folk offering which I can’t but see high on the Best Albums of 2014 list when time for hindsight comes. Beautiful.
