Canadian born folk star Bonnie Dobson has lived in the UK since the late 60s and had effectively retired from the music scene (despite an appearance at Jarvis Cocker's Meltdown back in 2007) until she began recording a new album for the Hornbeam label in the summer of 2013. The album features her boys: top young UK folk rock musicians and a mix of old and new songs, all newly recorded at the analogue east London studios of producer Sean Read. Her boys include Ben Paley (fiddle), Ben Phillipson (guitar, dulcimer), Jonny Bridgwood (double bass), Dave Morgan (drums), Felix Holt (hca, vocals), B.J. Cole (pedal steel guitar, dobro), Sean Read (tpt, perc) and (her girl) Ruth Tidmarsh (vocals). Bonnie played Morning Dew with Robert Plant and Bernard Butler at the star-studded Bert Jansch tribute concert at the Royal Festival Hall in December 2013. A new generation of fans including Pulp s Jarvis Cocker and Microdisney's Sean O Hagan, influenced by her late 1960s & 1970s albums, helped raise Bonnie's profile in the new millennium. Jarvis included Bonnie in his 2007 Meltdown festival.
